Old topic, but just run ethernet, get FibreOp, and get the Asus RT-N56U to replace the R1000H as fast as you can. Good service with a fairly bad router.
WiFi will lag and be slow compared to ethernet no matter what. |

Personally, I would get FiberOp and extend the ethernet cable between the fiber ONT box (in garage),and the modem to a central location - possibly where your current modem is. These two usually are beside each other, but they don't have to be. It may be difficult, but it will be worth it. Perhaps through the attic and fish down an inside wall where no insulation will be in the way? |
