Another character I created finally made it to that guy in the tower and talked to him without any stabbing. I'm so depressed. He's a merchant that sells items you can use to upgrade your weapons and armour. I was wondering how I was ever supposed to get my stuff up to +10. So my original character is pretty screwed...

A source close to the project has told EGM that some form of expanded content is in the process of being finished up for Dark Souls, and will be released as DLC at some point in the first quarter of this year.

While we were unable to get further details on what this new DLC will feature, late last year it was discovered that From Software had filed for an interesting trademark in Japan. That trademark was for “Yami no Mori”—which could be translated as “Forest of Darkness” or “Dark Forest”.

While we have no reason at this point to believe that the two are connected, we also have no reason to instantly discount the idea.

After Skyrim and the Batman games were out of the way I returned to Dark Souls. Since I'm still not "cheating" by reading any guides or wikis about the game it took me forever to fully figure out the weapon upgrade system. And I think I wandered into areas that lower level characters had no business being in. Much grinding ensued. So now I'm backtracking with a level 80+ character and kicking butt.

Every time I thought I was getting close to the end new areas opened up instead... I still love this game.

Cheating is a relative term. When I bought the deluxe version of Demon's Souls it came with a guide that showed all the different weapons and had tactics/tips. Was I cheating for using it? It came with the game. That said, cheating in these games only gets you so far.

Still haven't played it. May wait for the next time wife is out of town and I can book a few days off to spend in the man cave like I did for Skyrim which ended up being an awesome decision!

That's the reason I put the quotation marks around "cheating". Since I decided not to look to external resources until I made it through the game once on my own, I'd consider backsliding to be "cheating" the same way someone eating a big piece of chocolate cake is "cheating" on their diet.

How anyone else plays the game is none of my concern (unless you're invading my world). You can pay someone else to play the game for you for all I care...
