Default CBC New Brunswick HD feed

Afternoon all,

Wondering if anyone knows what's going on with the new CBC NB feed on channel 400. Shortly after the August 31 switch to digital, channel 400 went live with CBC programming and the feed from Toronto was moved to the time shifting package. Originally channel 400 had the NB supper hour news program in 16:9 ratio, although I don't think full HD resolution. All network HD programming was in HD. But starting yesterday channel 400 reverted to 4:3 ratio for all programming including network. With the Toronto feed still unavailable that means no CBC 16:9 programming available. That was still the case as of noon hour today.

Anyone know why??

There have been similar complaints in the OTA Station Status thread
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=144885

I think the problem is at CBC not ALiant.

Seeing the same problem on Rogers in NB. Does seem to be a CBC issue. Shame, I liked having the local feed in HD.

Has anyone contacted Aliant on this, to see if they will give us back CBC HD Toronto until this gets fixed? How can they Call this a HD channel when none of the programming is in HD/16:9 ratio.

I'll probably call them next week if this isn't fixed, or no one else mentions they have already called Bell Aliant.

Following up on Hugh's suggestion that the problem is likely with CBC, not Aliant, I checked the "digital" page accessible from the CBC NB web page and from there e-mailed a question as to why no HD service in NB and when it would be restored. So far, as of Sunday evening, no response. I'll post any reply I receive.

Cool, dwe_nb hopefully you'll hear something soon.

My theory was if we push it with Aliant, hopefully they'll push it with their affiliate contacts @ CBC.

since the form won't let me edit my last post, here is some info I came across in another thread, doesn't tell us when we'll get the 16X9 back.

http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/show...5&postcount=81

I also have sent off an e-mail to BellAliant through their website addressing ot the CBC Issue. Can anyone in Nova Scotia confirm that the Halifax feed is operating fine on Fiberop TV?

Default cbc hd channel 400 sucks in nfld as well

i phoned bell aliant and they gave me all the timeshifting channels free for 30 days, until cbc channel 400 is up and running properly.the tech support person gave me the runaround ,but the sales guy solved the predicament cheerfully.

Fubso, Thank you for that update, I will keep that in mind if the issue is not resolved by the time Hockey Night in Canada starts up.

This is the e-mail response I recieved from Bell Aliant today....

Quote:
Thank you for contacting Bell Aliant.

We have received feedback from many customers on this same issue. We have investigated and found that CBC-HD (400) is in fact NOT coming in as HD. We are currently working with CBC to get this issue resolved. We do apologize for this inconvenience.

In regards to CBC New Brunswick feed, I have transferred your email to our customer service group who would no more on what channels are to be released in the future.

Thank you for choosing Bell Aliant Trouble Resolution.

UPDATE:
I noticed tonight that CBCHD Channel 400, Is now Labled as CBCE HD, looks like Bell ALiant has Mapped the Ontario CBC HD Feed back to this channel until CBC NB can get things sorted out.
