According to Wikipedia, Rice Lake's elevation is 337m. So I'm at a loss to explain why I can receive the OMNI stations, and you're not able to. Possibly tuner sensitivity?!

Have you compared TVFool reports? Terrain between you and the transmitter can make a difference.

I would have to say that City is weaker then OMNI here in Toronto. I always have reception problems with it and I am near downtown.

My sister, who lives in SE Cambridge, can barely get CITY & neither OMNI channel and she has a rotary tower antenna. Getting answers from them is impossible.

Yes, prime example right now. City is good signal strength (well above the cliff), but signal quality bouncing up and down and breakups galore. CFMT, with a very close frequency (47) is slightly stronger and rock solid signal quality.

If you are east of Toronto it may be your signal for City RF44 is being
interfered with by analogue 44 south of Rice Lake.
Service contours for this channel go right into Whitby.

My antenna is pointed pretty much south (reflector should be blocking the very weak signals from that 44), the only 44 which could remotely come in is from faaar away in eastern NY. (Extremely unlikely)

One way to verify if analogue 44 is interfering is to check whether you
are receiving analogue TVO 18 from the same area.

It does seem odd you would have a weak City signal when you
are so close you can almost see the CN Tower.

You say your antenna is pointed south... perhaps a slight tweaking to the
west might make a difference?

It's too bad they weren't all like CBLT RF20.... That signal is unbelievable!

CJMT/CFMT LONDON & CITY-TV 31 Woodstock are all receptive in SE Cambridge. CITYTV 31 just after the transition used to come in but I guess Rogers decided that London is more important then the communities to the north of it.

^^^not quite sure what you are trying to say. I don't think anything has changed with those transmitters since the shutdown and the DTV patterns are as good if not better than the analog ones.

CJMT/CFMT LONDON are receivable in SE Cambridge? Are you sure about that?! I get both stations from Toronto here in Kitchener, but not the London stations.

Just to clarify, so this doesn't get confusing for those not keeping track (I know I had to do a double take here).

TOTVBuff is talking about reliably receiving CFMT-DT-1 (London) on RF 48, CJMT-DT-1 (London) on RF 20, and CITY-DT-2 (Woodstock) on RF 31 at his location in S.E. Cambridge.

That is in comparison to Jase88 who is talking about reliably receiving CITY-DT (Toronto - CN Tower) on RF 44, CFMT-DT (Toronto - CN Tower) on RF 47 and CJMT-DT (Toronto - FCP) on RF 51 at his location in Kitchener.

So same stations (CityTV, OMNI.1 and OMNI.2) but from different transmitters.

I agree, it would seem odd that you both are getting different results since you are so close to each other, with HWY 401 of course being the divide. Perhaps Jase88 should consider rotating his antenna to the S.W. where as TOTVBuff may want to consider pointing to the N.E.

We also know what Jass88 setup is, but perhaps TOTVBuff can allude to his. Maybe its differences there that are playing a factor.

Omni1 RF 48 in London uses a virtual channel number of 69.1.

Proposed CFMT/CITY London map.
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/show...111403&page=10

Cambridge is too far away from CFMT London for the signal to be reliable. (well beyond the lines according to the map).

Read ya l8r,

Does anyone have a contact a contact a Rogers, who can find out what's going on with rolling out PSIP to all of its stations?

In the Vancouver area, CKVU-DT (City) and CHNM-DT (OMNI) are now the only two major stations/networks in this market that do not have program guides. They also continue to show the incorrect time.
