I already pointed this out in a previous thread. It was timed deliberatley after the election because the decision could have influenced voting in the Italian and Jewish communities.

The Liberals have been pulling stunts like this since the Trudeau years. Why would anyone be surprised by this?

The RAI controversy and the Spike TV issue could be very important - as it could open the door in Canada to HBO, ESPN, etc.

If they change their mind on RAI how can they keep out HBO? Same if they keep Spike on the air. Allowing these channels will set a precedent. These services, Italian programming and a men's channel are already offered by Canadian channels which is the same reason for keeping HBO, et al off the Canadian distributors?

Agreed, HBO is a premium commercial free service like Movie Central. Movie Central will lobby like crazy to keep HBO off the air in Canada. There's no way they'd stay in business with HBO operating here.
