Reviews look great as well, looking forwarding to watching! Episode 2 airs this week, could still catch EP1 on guide I believe.

Really looking forward to it, nothing has really filled the void of 24.

I missed most of 24 but I did watch The Unit every week and this show looks like a nice mix of the two more or less. Ep 1 was great & left you wanting more.

Episode 2 was great too. I didn't that what we are watching is actually season 2. From what i read, season one was centered around John Porter.

I believe Season 1 was aired on Showcase earlier this year, and I really enjoyed it. It is right up there with Spooks (aka MI-5 on PBS), another show those who enjoy thriller/espionage offerings like 24 should check out.

Well, that would explain why they jumped right in, without the typical exposition of a new series, or why there was so much emphasis on John Porter, as though for some reason the audience was supposed to care about him...

Does anyone know where season 1 might be available? I have tried Amazon but it is apparently only on BLU RAY not DVD. It is not on HULU either.

Lightbulb YouTube vs DVD

I've seen the first 2 episodes of Season 2 through Rogers Cable and thought they were okay, but too predictable for me to rate that highly. Still, the action was intense enough to keep me watching. I'm not a big fan of combat-type shows, so I'm obviously not the target audience (pun intended).

Much of the UK stuff that is only available on DVD in the UK is often available for free on YouTube -- Strike Back Season 1 is one of those titles that is currently available for free there (I've just streamed a few seconds of episode 1 with the annoying subtitles, to confirm that it works, even though I only have dialup). I'm not sure if all 6 episodes will work, but if they do, you should probably watch all of them today in case they are taken down at a later date.

In many cases, YouTube content even remains there long after the Region 1 DVDs are released (hello, Keira Knightley). There are some that are quickly removed, but if you know what you want, it never hurts to go to YouTube or just Google it. YouTube has tons of stuff that it shouldn't be showing (hello, Disney XD), but that's not my problem.

I watched the first 3 episodes, available through Cogeco's TMN on Demand. Decent scripts, high production value, good casting - - an enjoyable series and I'm looking forward to the next installments.

I found Season 1 online, and watched all 6 episodes. The transition between Season 1 and 2 is not exactly smooth. Understanding who John Porter is important, but not the only problem.

0 1 Boxer: yes, Season 1 was anchored around John Porter. It was a 6-episode series that originally aired in the UK in 2010, and 2 episodes were aired each week. Season 2 will be a 10-episode series, IIRC.

yep. Can't wait. I was able to purchase the real season 1 or our season 0 from the UK . It was also very well done and helped fill in the blanks. Anyway I'm looking forward to season 3 or our season 2.

The 1st & second episodes last week were great!!
It was like watching an action movie!

Wasn't the 1st Strke Back UK season (re John Porter) a continuing spin off from John Porter (Lucas of MI-5 or Spooks) going after a terrorist cell on an original MI-5/Spooks episode? Lucas had taken the name & ID of John Porter & became an MI-5 agent without them knowing who he really was up to the point Strike Back series starts?

EDIT - I guess not - Lucas jumped to his death in final of Spooks

Definitely my favorite show right now, Season 2 has been excellent! The action, humor, and overall freshness of this series makes it a winner, Congrats Cinemax, your best series ever.
