Newsgroup Download Question - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

Hello,

I am new to the usenet world and have a quick question. When i try to grab a 500 Meg file it ends up being around 1.2 Gb when i start the download. It is just a SD one hour show so not sure why it more that doubling in size.

I am using alt.binz as my client.

I am just curious as to if this is the norm or am i doing something wrong.
any help would be appreciated.
