'Joey' pilot leaked onto net
14:55 BST, Monday 5th July 2004 -- by Neil Wilkes

The pilot episode of Friends spinoff Joey has been leaked onto the internet more than three months before it premieres in the States.

The one-hour episode sees Joey settle into his new life in Los Angeles and introduces other members of the Tribbiani clan.

Almost 8,000 people have downloaded the pilot from one particular internet site over the past few days, but the number of people viewing the show illegally will increase by tens of thousands more as the file spreads onto the various file-sharing networks.
I had a chance to *cough* preview the show, it isn't half bad, I can see a loyal following of 'Friends' fans as it is very simular.

Is it illegal to download a recorded television show? just wondering, i always thought tv shows were the only thing that wasn't off limits...i guess tv screeners don't count hehe

well put it this way... it's not illigal to download it... it MAY be illigal to provide the show for downloading.

Bet you a loonie it makes it through the first season.

I'm certainly not lawyer but TV show's have a copyright which makes it illegal to make unauthorized recordings. So to Splash's point, it would be illegal to make it available to download.

The funny thing is I never would have looked for it or downloaded it if I hadn't seen this thread.
