Default What ever happened to channel 1?

A bit of history about how the NTSC TV system came about.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO CHANNEL 1?

That was about the time I started here. It must have slipped my memory. Perhaps this is best considered a "refresher" on the history of TV.

Channel 1 (44 - 50 Mhz) was dropped due to signal over loading into the FM band. x2. Yes, with poor quality equipment. Over loading can be seen in analog systems. Good quality equipment will have filters to reduce overloading.
