I notice that Comedy Network promos aired on Much HD are in high def. Hopefully this means they're prepped for launching a Comedy HD.

With the shutdown of SunTv OTA transmitters in a couple of days will Bell TV take the challenge and put Sun TV into its schedule. Just a thought!

I hope not. Sun's campaign for carriage has been ridiculous.

So there's no FX Canada yet on Bell because...? Are Rogers and Bell fighting now?

So, really... What's the deal with FX Canada and Bell?
I thought I read here that they were launching on Nov 1... but I can't see it anywhere in the guide. I can understand Bell playing hardball with Quebecor for TVA Sports and Sun TV because those channels really have nothing to offer. But FX Canada ... come on guys, I know it's Rogers but this looks to be a great addition to the lineup. |

"I can understand Bell playing hardball with Quebecor for TVA Sports and Sun TV because those channels really have nothing to offer."
For English-speaking Canada maybe. For French-Speaking young hockey players who love to watch hockey and other sports on TV, lots. Remember that RDS is way up there on the profit list. Regarding Sun-TV, it doesn't follow Bell's political ideology. As for Yoopa and Mlle, I can't think of any reason. -gmd

TVA sports has nothing exclusive except for some junior hockey, which quite frankly whether you live in Quebec (like I do), or anywhere else... does not generate huge interest on tv.
They show the same Senators games that you would get on Sportsnet, so unless you cannot understand english or really really like junior hockey there really is no point to TVA sports for the time being. Their sports talk shows are just more of the same that you already get on RDS. I understand they will have exclusivity on Quebec City NHL if they ever get a team. When that happens, I may be interested. As for FX Canada... it is mysteriously silent in this forum. What's going on with that? |
