Between 1946 and 1964 many 'flag contests' were held giving Canadians an opportunity to propose their vision of a new national flag.

Here are some of the nominee... I have to say they picked the RIGHT one!

There were several under consideration. There was one with wide blue bands instead of the wide red ones in the flag that was finally chosen, etc.

I think they should have chosen the one with the Montreal Hooker.

This just reminds me of when they had the contests to design those Canadian Quarters in 1999 and 2000, Imagine what some of the others looked like?
