So no talk yet if this will be a final season?

Now I certainly hope that HBO Canada carries this in Western Canada. I remember Season 7 was not carried by Movie Central in Western Canada for some reason. I am excited, this is one of my favourite shows.

from more recent press release

Quote:
In the unscripted and improvised half-hour comedy series' new season, David faces the possibility of divorce from estranged wife Cheryl (Cheryl Hines) while continuing to deal with the banal self-inflicted problems of his everyday life. The new season also returns David to his roots, leaving Los Angeles, and travelling back to the Big Apple for a number of episodes. Along for the ride are series regulars Jeff Garlin as David's manager Jeff and Susie Essman as Jeff's wife Susie, and guest stars and series veterans Bob Einstein, Richard Lewis, Rosie O'Donnell, J.B. Smoove and Wanda Sykes who play themselves or character roles.

New episodes will also feature guest stars such as Michael J. Fox, Ricky Gervais, Jonathan Ames, Bill Buckner, Rebecca Creskoff, Gary Cole, Ana Gasteyer, Michael Gross, Harry Hamlin, Larry Miller, Robert Smigel, Aida Turturro, Mookie Wilson and Jo Anne Worley.

Every scene with JB Smoove is hilarious.

The entire show is hilarious. Some say it's funnier than Seinfeld.

I find it much funnier than Seinfeld.
And I'm with james99 on this one - this season is a classic so far, each episode absolutely hilarious.

Well, final episode aired tonight. Have to say, I didn't enjoy this season as much as the others for some reason. It's not the change in location, but almost everything seemed to fall flat for me this time around and the stories didn't seem as cohesive. The two best episodes for me were the one with the ball player and tonight's with Micheal J. Fox. Other than that, it kind of feels like they're running out of steam.

I thought that when they went to New York that it fell flat--the first few episodes in LA were hilarious. Each to his own.

I loved the current season but wished it was longer.

Yeah, I wish it were longer too. It just seemed way too short. And maybe it's just me but it seemed like they didn't really take advantage of being in New York. I did recognize the lobby (from Seinfeld maybe?), but other than that it really seemed devoid of anything that made a change in location unique. In the lead up to this, I was imagining what Larry David would do in some of the very familiar Seinfeld locations that exist, such as the Soup Man. Oh, how I would have loved to have seen him get into an argument with him... Such potential wasted. Would have also been fun for him to run into the people were inspiration for the characters on Seinfeld, like the real Kramer.

I get the same kind of disappointment when a show will announce that they're taking a trip to another location while praising it but end up shooting inside a studio the whole time.

I can't believe that seasons are not what they used to be. Come on, 10 episodes is a FULL season? These are not seasons, they are parters of show inside a season. Gone are the days of Bonanza or The Waltons.
