I just checked my new terminal and although Bell advertises a 6120, but I got a 6100. Is there any significant differnece between these two units? From rading the threads, it seems as if the 6100 has been around a lot longer

6100 is the receiver. 6120 is a package that includes a 6100 and a dish.

Does anyone have the IR code number for the 6120 to record to the Pioneer DVR-533H-S DVD recorder?
Thanks - Tom Moffatt |

Thanks for the replys. I am still getting used to this forum's format and did not see the replies until today. So I guess I don't have to give BEV heck then? BTW I am enjoying the HD channels. More channels than I could get with Rogers at my location, and less errors and other hicoughs with the HD signal so far

Can somebody confirm the 6120 comes with the legacy LNB, not the DishPro LNB?
Thanks in advance. Cave |

Bell does not sell anything that is Dishpro except the receivers themselves...so not there is only the legacy LNB's.

I not sure what the best method is, but I just play with the zoom feature, and if it fills the who screen with normal zoom then it's HD. It would of been nice if there was some indication from the receiver. Programs that are SD on the HD channels will show black bars on the side if no zoom is used. Other than that, the clarity of the picture will be much better than normal SD. It's pretty obvious most of the time. One thing you should see is black or gray side bars during the commerials since most of them are still in SD.

I have a 6100 and it seems as though I have to unplug (reset) it far too frequently. It happened again last night, managed to get a hold of 1-888-skydish @ 5:30 AM. I could view the guide, but there was no picture on any channels. They also told me to check-off "HRV"(I think) instead of "Off Air" (where it was checked) in the HDTV set-up sub menu.
They also told me not to use a power bar , because the draw from my TV is causing this to happen I can't believe that but.......Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem? |

The symptom is no picture at all.
I do get the guide, but the upper right corner remains a blank. Also, when I select menu, the tabs show-up against a black background instead of the customary blue. |
