Default Whole Home PVR on BellTV (satellite)?

I was just speaking with a Bell CSR and she said that with BellTV (satellite not Fibe) you can install a "switcher" that allows you to access a single PVR in the house from any other HD box in the house and watch and recorded programs - so you/I don't need a second PVR in the bedroom.

I don't believe that as it is not promoted on the website and I've never heard of it before. That is their big selling feature with Fibe.

Can anyone confirm this either way?

Sounds like she doesn't know what she's talking about but claims that is how her's is set up.

THANKS

Exactly, none of the Bell receivers currently support such a scenario. What she calls a switcher is probably an HDMI or other kind of AB switch or splitter. This will work of course, but it's hardly a multi room solution like Fibe.

Personally I have an AV receiver with 2 HDMI outputs, one of which I then feed with a balun to the bedroom. It's a very good solution for my needs, because we rarely if ever need to watch two different programs in both rooms. But it's hardly a Bell supported or provided solution.

Closing since question answered.

If this product becomes reality, rest assured you'll likely hear about here before anywhere else. (and yes, we will create a sticky thread to discuss!)
