Secret Window was an ok movie, but I wanted to make a post about the Seinfeld DVD preview on the extras.
It said coming soon, but it also said it was going to be in High Definition. Any truth to that or did the preview just use the term wrong?

I had heard that about Seinfeld but it's television so how do you take a 4:3 picture and convert to 16:9

Yep, just a marketing ploy.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...hreadid=417993 Here's a quote from somone who 'seems' to know what they're talking about. "Indeed it was edited on videotape. I'm acquainted with one fellow who use to work on the post-production side of the show, and he told me that if these were to be re-done in HD, it would be a monumental chore, because they really didn't keep very good notes as far as what takes were used, etc. When you consider that it was shot with FOUR Panavision 35mm cameras, that means there are four different shots from EVERY scene that need to be located, transferred, and then edited. And often, they'd use different shots from different takes, which further complicates things. So, while that doesn't mean it CAN'T be done, it will be quite amazing if it happens. --Bill R." |
