Don't judge the PB browser by it's look. This browser is fantastic! Best support for HTML 5 standards as well I am told. Enjoy being stuck on Android 3 and watch out for those malware infected apps!
I do have to agree about no Netflix and they do need more apps that's for sure! |

I wish RIM success with the next version of their Playbook tablet OS. In the current version I'd describe their current implementation of Webkit to be "not bad, but not particularly great either" when compared to the latest version of Android's browser (especially Chrome) and Mobile Safari on iOS. The version of Webkit used by RIM in the PB is older than the other two.

"The web browser gets a major upgrade in 2.0. Heins claims that PlayBook and BlackBerry 10 will have "the most comprehensive mobile support for HTML5 of any platform".
That maters not just to make Web pages work the way you're used to on the desktop, but because that's a way developers can create apps that run on BlackBerry today, PlayBook this month and BlackBerry 10 at the end of the year - and RIM lets HTML apps use native BlackBerry features like integration with BBM." - RIM CEO Thorsten Heins at BlackBerry DevCon in Amsterdam |

I was quite surprised by the built-in speakers on the Playbook when I tested a video file last night - much better than I had expected. That said, I wish it could play .mkv files.
Apps are definitely on the small side, as there are a few I'd love to see (Netflix, Logmein Ignition, Eye-Fi Center), but hopefully that will improve once 2.0 comes out as well. For the price, it definitely seems much better than something like the Kobo Vox eReader (which costs the same $199 as I paid for my 16GB Playbook). |

I would like to see (in the next OS) smoother, enhanced functionality for typing revision.
Re-call the magnifier feature on the iOS (ipod, ipad) when returning to previously typed text. It's much easier (and productive) when re-positioning the cursor. Be nice if OS2.0 offers this. I find it slightly cumbersome when correcting, revising text (placing the cursor accurately).

The $199 deal is back.
The iPad is a good product, but with the firesale price on the RIM and with the slick new operating system, I picked up a second one. Imagine that, 2 PBs for less than the price of one iPad and I still have some coin left over. |

Same here. Two for half the price of one of the competitions but at $200.00 you can't call it a fire sale considering it is the same price as other 7" tablets. How about tremendous value! ;-)

A good in-depth comparison of the iPad 2 and the PlayBook with OS 2.0.
http://crackberry.com/ipad-2-vs-play...blet-smackdown Was very close, iPad 2 came out on top. The 2.0 update to the PlayBook has certainly made it a lot more competitive with the king of tablets.
