I suspect that alebowgm wasn't suggesting changing the times that the games start but changing which station shows which game. The trade certainly would benefit CBC far more than TSN though since the CBC would get the two best time-slots. It is hard to say if TSN would benefit at all since the benefit of showing back to back games may be more than offset by poor time-slots.
One advantage of this schedule is if any of the games go into overtime, the station can cover it without preempting another game. |

rogers is right as to what I was saying. I do agree the advantage is if there is OT there is no conflict, but having everything one one network avoids market confusion as to where to tune. With the way it is today its minimal at best, but I still get confused to where to tune sometimes.

It also wouldn't make a lot of sense for CBC to fly commentators all the way out to San Jose for one game. Also, Pierre McGuire is working for NBC on Saturday, so we would be stuck with a US regional (either ROOT Pittsburgh or Sun Sports) simulcast of TB-PIT.
I like it the way it is. I know all of TB-PIT is on CBC and all of LA-SJ is on TSN. |

Game six of the Predators-Ducks series from Nashville will start at 1500h Pacific, 1800h Eastern with Versus and TSN televising the game.
It will be interesting to see what TSN will do if the Flyers-Sabres game goes into overtime. The World under 18 tournament is on TSN2. I have a feeling that it will pre-empted to make way for the Ducks-Predators game. |

Last time that happened, the NBA game that was on TSN2 was pre-empted.

The world U18 game is an encore. The final of the U18 is actually the first game of a tripleheader on TSN at 12:30pm ET. The bigger question is, if it goes to OT and runs past 3:20 (which is unlikely), will it get moved to TSN2 or will the start of PHI-BUF get moved to TSN2?

Thanks NB Josh. I thought it would be a repeat since the game is in Germany.
The Shaw guide was saying the game on TSN2 would be live which is obviously an error. Shaw simply copied the information from the 930h TSN game which is live. |

If it's anything like what happened the other day, the start of PHI-BUF will get moved to TSN2 and switch over as soon as the other game is done.

I don't think the NHL has any national radio coverage of the playoffs in Canada or the US. Sabres games are on WGR 550AM, I honestly don't have a clue if you can pick it up in Toronto or not.
BTW if the Canadiens win tonight, then tomorrow's schedule is 7pm - Canadiens @ Bruins, game 7 on CBC 8pm - Lightning @ Penguins, game 7 on TSN If the Bruins win tonight, then CBC will have TB-PIT at 7pm ET. |

dont see a reason why Fan 590, TSN Radio 1050, or Talk 640 can pick up the action of the playoffs (Stupid NHL for not having radio coverage)

Since the Habs won.
Pens/Lightning game moves to TSN tomorrow as Habs game 7 is on tomorrow as well. |

Habs needed a lot of help from the ref. to win tonight. Both goals scored when they had a 5 on 3 advantage. Don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting the officiating was prejudiced. It wasn't. Boston made some stupid fouls given the importance of the game. Have to wonder if the Hab. player was embellishing his injuries a bit to ensure the Bruins got that major.
In the first period, Cole didn't even seem to know that the goal was disallowed even though the washout signal was immediate, clear and emphatic. In the third period Cole repeatedly tried to tell us what an exciting game it was. (It wasn't). He also misnamed players and missed a few other incidents that his partners had to bring to the viewers' attention. Basically it reminded me of a mid season tilt with a few players trying very hard and the rest just going through the motions. I got the feeling that Boston just wanted to get through the evening and takes their chances back in Boston tomorrow night. |

I dont think the NHL has ever sold national radio rights before outside of those for the finals. Probably something that may be included in the upcoming contract.

Apparently Nashville-Vancouver starts Thursday night so it can go Thursday/Saturday, then 2 off days (because of the election on Monday) before switching to Nashville for game 3 on Tuesday.
That should mean Detroit-San Jose starts Friday/Sunday. One East series (the Montreal one if they advance) will start Friday, with the other on Saturday afternoon on NBC. |
