Quick question about 8000HD recording - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

So you start to record a program and while its recording you decide to watch the recording while its still recording...

How do you get to the beginning of a program ?

there must be a quicker way then actually hit the rewind button - right?

I know there is an option after recording is complete but this does not exist while the recording is still occuring.

At the moment, this is the only way to get back to the start.

This was discussed several times in the SA8000HD official thread. With a rewind speed of 30X on the SA8000HD, it doesn't take too long to get anywhere, since you can't "pause live TV" for longer than an hour anyway.

Even at 30X, I find 'rewinding' to the start to be a royal pain!

Although you can only pause live TV for one hour, you may have it set up to record a movie or sporting event that is considerably longer and if you decide to watch it from the start before it has finished recording you may have to rewind considerably more that one hour and even at 30X it can take awhile.

Once you do an actual "recording", allowing it to finish, you will be able to go to the start.

If you are going to record for a long time, Isuggest you "record and end" where you are now - so that you can go to the beginning quickly and set another recording for what's still to come.
