I saw that promo channel too. This is something I missed A LOT since going to the new app.

Do you think it is a feature you can turn on / off?

At least we can come here to learn new channel details

This will be good, because new channels will probably be on freeview for a bit, so it will appear in your guide. I don't know how else they'd advertise new channels, what a better way then a freeview.

Now that I've had some time to play with the new Media Room, I have to say it's quite good. I got the impression from this board that it was poor, but it works well for me.. Now whether or not any PVR issues arrise, we will see..

I don't even mind not having the Unsubscribed/Subscribed option on the guide. Glad it's coming back, but the ability to customize the guide (Under TV preferences) was perfect for me, I got rid of all the channels I don't want.

Not sure which background I have now but I can read it fine. The guide is hardly transparent on my screen.

Any shortfalls are made up by the coolest feature ever.. FINALLY someone thought of this... and that is, the "LAST" function on the remote that brings up the 5 most recent channels along with previews. This is exactly what I want, it's perfect! Can't say enough about that feature..

It's fast, too. Fastest channel change ever on the FibreOp!!

well looks like the update came for me. i know somthing happened because i notice a facebook app is availible now (seriously did anyone really want this?) as for the unsubbed channels all i seen is that the blue screen is replaced by a black screen with the phone number at the bottom of the screen. and unless i am missing somthing i cannot find any option that let you hide the unsubbed chanels. i already contacted aliant on there twitter page about how to hide them.

I see no difference in my guide at all. Nothing happened.

Maybe it's something that we have to activate using the web. A bit like certain home phone functions....

according to a twitter post the guide changes will be phased in over 2 weeks and will filter unsubscribed channels a few at a time!

I agree, their communication skills are terrible for a communications company! Once again the get the hopes of their customers up and then disappoint .... Its an all too common event with Aliant.

I wonder how many subscribed channels mistakenly get screened out

Had my first run in with the dark side of the PVR.. Turned on the TV while the recording was in progress, and went to View Recordings as I was hoping to start watching from the start. I had the recording on the screen, didn't press any buttons, and then the Play button went away. I exited and went back in, recording was gone!

It's gone! Oh well, at least we have this new Facebook app.......
