Just curious to find out how many members have either individual or integrated Audio/AV systems. Also is the configuration you have now one of choice or convenienceand practical limitations such as space or the $ factor.
As I am just short of finishing the reno's on our new place I have set up my TV in one room in front of a nice big sectional sofa and find it ideal. My music sound system will be in a different room with a setee in the "sweet spot" and I am looking forward to finally unpacking it and listening to music again. I think the two room configuration is ideal. What about you? |

I run both out of the same room with the same equipment because the design of my house actually includes a dedicated 'media room'.
From what I have read in your posts, your gear is far more 'sophisticated' than mine. I prefer the one room set up. I've got my PC in there too. For an average level of equipment (as mine), it wouldn't make sense to double-up on configurations... If you got the space and the $$$ why not. I could see setting up a 'micro' HT in the master BR for watching flicks, but for focused listening and 'rattling the boys' with surround, one room is good... I can even decorate it with what I please 'cuz it's my space.

Right now the home theater set up is all I have given the amount of space....next home will have seperate areas for each...I do however consider musical reproduction when buying home theater gear...I recently just sold my rotel CD player as it did not fit in the space I have and the acoustic properties of the room do not lend to good stereo listening...

Due to lack of room and $$, I just have one system for both.
I still doubt I'll have a music listening room. I tend to only listen to music when I'm entertaining so the stereo would just be setup the rec room (or whatever I have at my next pad). I know a car isn't an ideal music room, but since I commute and hour a day each way, I slapped a little system together. That's my music room.

Mine's integrated (see sig). I just listen to two-channel when listing to music. I've tried the DSPs, modified the DSPs, tried DPL, etc and find that good old stereo is what I like best for music.
For Video, it's DPL or DD5.1.
