Hello,
I am trying to figure out what to do. I have two lcd hd tvs. I have only 1 hd receiver Motorola DSR505. I also have two old non hd receivers. I would like to get a new HD one for the new tv. But am finding that which one to choose is a lot confusing. I was also wondering if SD offers any trade in for old ones? I hope I have given enough info. Thanks Andra |

best bet is to call Shaw Direct and ask... if you are a long time customer, a trade in may be available... look for the 505 to 605 trade in thread in this forum.
There are only 3 models available. https://secure.shawdirect.ca/english/store/extras.asp 209 - the standard def receiver $99 605 - the HD receiver $199 630 - the HD PVR $399

Considering both TV's are HD, it makes senses to go with the 605/630s. I wholeheartedly recommend the PVR 630 so you can record and view HD programs on time shift. Remember that the 630 will require two lines. The 630 was my first PVR and I don't know what took me so long.
