Default Anyone going to watch Casino tonight?

I've never heard of it but my wife says I have to record it. A Mark Burnett production. Here's a review and the official site.

PVR timer was set last night. Big right-up in the Sunday Sun. Some Canadian guy is a lounge singer and is considered the 3rd star of the show.

Same here, my wife wants me to record it, but I'll watch it too.

Was it just me or did every single thing about this show feel 100% scripted? I wasn't bored but I'm not sure how many more episodes I will stick around for.

Wasn't just you. The whole thing felt contrived. I enjoyed The Restaurant, but I'm not sure I'll stick with this one.

To me it was contrived to the point of being banal.

I was surfing by and noticed it on CTV-HD too. I don't recall seeing a bug - I guess they don't have one ready to "cover" FOX.

Was it in HD? (I'm out of town, and HD-less for a few more days ) As I understand it, this show was produced in HD from the get-go, but FOX won't be able to show it in HD until their national roll-out in the Fall (if the show lasts that long), so this would have been an opportunity for CTV to acquire HD broadcast rights and actually scoop our southern neighbors.

It was 480P widescreen on Fox. As you say, many of the shows have been produced in 720P or above so that they'll be HD in reruns, etc.

I tried to do a quick comparison between CTV/Fox, but didn't notice a significant difference in the short time I spent looking at the show.

The show was delayed a few seconds on CTV, relative to Fox. The Fox network is not yet "sending" 720P since not all affiliates are ready for it, so CTV would probably have received 480P WS, but I can't be certain of that.

my wife didn't like it so she seems to concur with the feedback here.

It was good seeing Vegas in 480p and its too early to write-off the show.
