Another good deal today on Eneloops:

Includes - 1x Overnight charger, 8x AA Eneloop, and 4x AAA Eneloop ($26.00)

These Eneloops have been discussed in various threads - a search will find those threads. They have been roundly endorsed and typically last significantly longer than other NiMH batteries. The charger doesn't usually take overnight (takes a few hours), but it's not a "fast" charger (1 hour or less). Perhaps that's part of the reason why the batteries last longer.

I ordered a couple of small items from Dell late on Sunday night and unbelievably they arrived at my door this morning (Tuesday) at 10:00am.

Order was ~ $20 so not a lot of incentive to rush anything so I am even more impressed.

Purolator ( Canada Post) was the carrier.

I am rather underwhelmed by Day One of the deals.

Dell seems to have lots of sales of point and shoot cameras these days, which very few people want thanks to the quality of smartphone cameras. And selling a $50 HDMI cable for $10 tells you what these are really worth and is only a deal for suckers.

The last few DDOD have been similar.

Not a bad deal on the Alienware 14r, but not much better than the price I speced out last week.

Having a hard time convincing myself to pull the trigger on one of those when there is no place to go and actually see the unit. I do prefer to have a bit of hands-on before making a commitment. Works well in computer purchases, car purchases, and relationships......

The 2m HDMI cables at $5 each delivered is a good buy. If I didn't have a box full I would have picked them up.

One of today's deals is the Dell Alienware 51.

As soon as you start to customize it, you realize how assinine Dell's prices can be. They want $500 for a 256Gb SSD upgrade over a 1Tb HD. That will buy you FOUR 256Gb SSD's if you go cheap, or two if you buy top end.

They want $200 for a 2Tb HD upgrade. Ouch!

Dell Business Days of Deals starts today!

http://www1.ca.*********/content/top...56862c11903414

*** = delldotcom

However, I still find some of their prices obscene!

For example, a 120Gb SSD from VisionTEK for $457.99. That is about $350 too high! I checked Canada Computers, NCIX, and NewEgg Canada, and nobody stocks any SSDs from VisionTEK at all.

TigerDirect Canada does list the same drive, but they are asking $212.96 for the same drive.

Dell's price is just asinine. Somebody in their sales department must be smoking on the job...

I have found some good deals from the various Days of Deals in the past, but somethings all I can do is laugh.....
