I have noticed recently when I have the TV off and the PVR starts recording and I turn on the TV and the seperate audio system, that the I cannot get any sound out of the PVR. If you change the channel to another channel it also does not produce any sound. If I turn off the PVR which means stopping the recording and turn it back on again the sound is OK.
Any ideas on what could be causing this problem and solution. Nothing has changed regarding the connections or any settings on any of the 3 devices, TV, PVR or audio! Appreciate any thoughts cheers |

Which make/model AVR do you have? We have found that sometimes the order that the equipment turns on is important, especially for Pioneer equipment. See the following FAQ on HDMI issues (I assume you're connected via HDMI to the TV).

Hi,
I've had this before also, it's a bug in the firmware - the pvr mutes the sound if it has to turn on to record a show, but then fails to unmute again unless you turn it off/on. My solution was to leave the pvr on all the time, been running like that for several months now with no issues. Regards, Ken |
