The new Eastlink box here in Halifax is the sexiest HD box I have seen anywhere in North America to date. I would like to have one in our house in Moncton as well but am not sure if I buy one that it will work on Rogers system. The old Eastlink PVR is the same as what Rogers currently offers, so I am guessing their systems are fairly compatible. Does anybody know for a fact whether this new box will work or not in Moncton.
Please respond, thank you |

Generally speaking cable operators equipment which may or may not work from system to system -- you can ask but most times they don't / won't even try.
More details on the why below http://www.digitalhome.ca/2011/01/bu...box-in-canada/ |

I dont believe so. There have been a couple of threads on this lately. It seems the boxes are locked to their service provider.

The DCX3400 will not yet work on your Rogers account.

for the time being rogers atlantic uses DCT models, nothing else will work. Also they do not import boxes from other providers. It has to be bought/rented from rogers.
