I'm not really sure what to make of KBCB's recent addition of HD. It's at 9.6 Mbps so if there is any actual HD content on it (and I doubt that) it probably looks really miserable.
KBCB 24.1 and 24.3 are both showing the NBC Shopping Channel.

Another note, CHEK's TSID is wrong. If anyone here is in touch with CHEK, can you tell them their TSID is 16679? They have it as 4127, which is right if you're using hex (0x4127 = 16679).

The new data is now up on RabbitEars.

CIVI-2 17-1 occasionally has lines like interference or data missing, but not macro blocking. I'm getting a good strong signal at 90% and this is the only channel I have this issue. Could it be their equipment or a poor quality signal? I have direct clear line-of-sight with the broadcast towers.

Re: CHEK-DT

I have a Samsung TV and I am getting sound with CHEK-DT, but the sound is way lower compared to the other channels. I have to double the volume on my TV to get equivalent sound of the other channels.

On my TV, the volume of analog CHEK is the same of that of the other local digital OTA channels.

Are other people who are getting CHEK-DT with audio having the same low volume audio issue?

rimor, audio level on 6.1 here is the same as all other channels.
One thing I did notice with 6.1 however is that it is right in sync with Bell satellite channel 255. I thought this was strange because ota is always 3-4 seconds ahead of satellite.

Rimor - CHEK engineers are aware of their audio problems (Mpeg-2 instead of AC-3) and are waiting on parts. Once that has been resolved (no ETA when I spoke to him last week) then I'd revisit the audio volume issue and address it if required. They've got changes in the works.

Default RE: Post #333 CIVI-2 17 "Lines of interference"

I've also noticed that there are occasional very small horizontal lines- some don't go right across the entire screen, but some do- they appear and quickly disappear. (Similar to what you would see from a video tape.) It's almost like the 'blocks' are so small you can't see them clearly, but they form a neat, thin horizontal line (that doesn't freeze the picture), and then they are gone, in a duration of about 1 second. I wonder if it's a signal/multipath issue; but I am experiencing it as well.

CIVI-2 17 "Lines of interference"

I get the same problem here I wonder if the exciter is blasting a too high data rate to the transmitter?

Default CIVI 17's BER, SNR, and FEC

I've been monitoring CIVI-DT 17's Error Rate, Forward Correction, and Signal-To-Noise ratio for awhile at the same time as watching it on screen. There are no anomalies seen in the statistics, yet I eyeballed occasional picture breakups or mini-glitches.

I'm inclined to believe that the problem is upstream somewhere within CTV instead of at CIVI's ATSC exciter/transmitter.

I have been doing the same observations from two seperate systems and two antennas at the same time and in both cases the signal is not the issue it is internal in my view also.

KBTC had the same issue feeding to Direct TV and they resolved the issue by lowering the bit rate feed to direct tv so that was where my thinking came from.

CIVI 17's BER, SNR, and FEC
I had a great conversation with CTV2 engineering about the irregularities and have been assured they are looking into tracking the problem and correcting it.

Great work, danbcman

I was going to ask if anyone here had been in contact with CTV on that issue. How did you find the right contact info to get to speak to CTV2 engineering?
