I have split the thread with the SATA drive (reality) as a new thread in this forum.

Recently over the last few days since Thursday the 20th of April, I have noticed if I am recording a program between 1am and 3am and I am watching a previously recorded program, when I go to watch another recorded program the unit freezes on me every time. But only between this time and only when recording at that time frame.

I noticed the same on my SA8300HD the past couple of nights. And it wasn't limited to the early morning. Happened to me a couple of times in the evening. I'm glad it's not my STB. As soon as the recording was over, everything worked fine. Even sometimes when it was recording it worked fine...

I just e-mailed the following. I urge others to do the same, if they have encountered the issue. The more people who do this, the better.

Quote:
I have an SA8300HD, and for the past couple of days it has been "freezing", when I try to start watching a programme that I've already recorded, while another programme is also being recorded.

When I select “play” the prerecorded programme, I get a grey screen and a “950” on the front of the SA8300HD and the programme DOES NOT start playing. I need to either reboot the STB to get it to work, or it reboots itself.

The programme that's currently being recorded also loses a couple of minutes of the recording, even if I wait until the recording is over to reboot.

I belong to an HD Forum and other people on that forum have also had this happen to them. This happened very occasionally in the past - perhaps once every couple of months, but it's happened several times in the past 2 days.

This has also happened on some people with the SA8000HD.

Have you "pushed" any new "firmware" recently?
