I recently moved into a house where the cable is already hooked up...It was like that when I moved in. I have since called Rogers to have hi-speed internet hooked up. I receive a bill every month for my internet connection but since I never actually signed up for cable, I don't get a bill...(obviously). I have an HD Tv but am not currently getting HD TV...
Is it possible to get HD TV without having to call Rogers and start a cable account? I wouldn't be surprised if this type of thread exists but I searched and couldn't find any evidence of one. Thanks.... Last edited by UncleTupelo; 2010-12-18 at 10:01 PM. Reason: spelling error |

This has been asked many times. What you are asking is cable theft and that discussion is not allowed on this forum. Rogers usually puts in a filter to preclude cable theft anyway if you only sign up only for internet.
Even if there were no filter, you wouldn't get any HD channels since they're encrypted and require an HD STB activated by Rogers. There may be the occasional HD channel that's on free preview and not encrypted that could be picked up by a QAM tuner, but that doesn't last long Useful post: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=57741 FAQs, Search Tips, Optimization.
