Default Frontline - The Way The Music Died

Great Programme with good insight into why "records" aren't selling.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/music/

It was on PBS-HD at 9PM. It's on again... (The channels are Rogers) but you'll likely have to set your VCR/DVR, HDDVR, etc.

I watched the program and it was quite interesting. I don't mind the dumbing down of music so much because it's given me a chance to discover older music. I haven't bought a new album in about 5 years. I occasionally download a couple of singles here and there that I like after hearing them on the radio but never any nickelback that's for sure.

I am always surprised by the scorn for Nickelback. I have no intention of buying any of their stuff but they play their own instruments, write their own stuff and tour it exhaustively without “lip syncing” That would place them in roughly the top 10% of what is out there now as far as I can see. Of course that may be why I don’t buy any new artists either.

I have no scorn for Nickelback really. I know Chad Krugger writes for a lot of bands and is quite talented. My thing is just that I've heard all their music SO MUCH that I'm tired of it.

digitalguy_1978

that is certainly fair. I was not surprised by your post itself, there has just always been a lot critiques of them and I was wondering if there was somthing I missed.
