Well I think the Respawn issue is not as bad as folks think it is. What people in game might not realize is there opponent is probably using Tactical insertion.
I started using this and its wicked vs the modern warfare version first off its harder to see so I notice people miss it completely. I watch the kill cam and see if they notice it and if they don't I just spawn in the room with them and pop them. The other thing is the new tactical insert you can cancel the respawn so if the player does notice it then I just don't tac insert. So all the time Its going to seem like I'm spawning on top of guys it is easily the best accessorie item in the game. However in Hardcore you can't get the option to cancel the respawn. At first I thought the spawn situation was an issue but I've relized now its just guys tacing in. |

The spawn issue is not guys tac inserting.....it's a legit issue with how they've setup the spawn engine. Me spawning in front of a spawn camper and getting killed and then watch the killcam to see myself die as another teammate spawns right after me on a serving platter for the spawn camper is not a tac insert.......that's a spawn engine screwup.
The problem with the spawn engine is it doesn't seem to factor in enemy location in deciding spawn location.....it tends to spawn you close to your teammates and spawn you near the teammate who is standing still. You can even see it for yourself more often than not. Go to a room that's close to your teammates and sit there without moving and you'll notice your temates will start spawning right in the room with you or very near your location. Countless times I've spawned like that outside a building, run 10 steps right into the sights of a waiting enemy for an easy kill. Happens all the time. Yesterday I was playing on Puketown and was behind one of the houses gunning down an enemy working on a killstreak when what would be the equal of 5 feet away an enemy spawned to my right in plain view looking directly at me......needless to say he got himself a nice easy kill. If that's not a spawn issue I don't know what is. I have lots of friends who've played this series online for years since COD2 and all of them are complaining about the spawns and as mentioned earlier it's currently the hottest topic of discussion of what people want addressed in the next patch. You wouldn't get that many people complaining about it if it indeed wasn't an issue.

I've seen it myself too...I'll camp a little while at a known choke point on a map and within seconds, my teammates start appearing all around me. I'm forced to move because I don't want to get them killed.
A lot of games I played had me always spawning way at the back of some huge map over and over again because one of my team mates is hunkered down in a good sniping position nearby... I've also seen numerous times where part of a team will be killed as a group and suddenly they all spawn near the same place all at once...makes for an easy RCXD mass kill if you're lucky enough to stumble upon the site at the right time. |

The TV commercials for the game are pretty cool.... I think I recognize a few of the actors in it... is one Kobe? and another a late night talk show host?
I haven't bought the game yet.... I bought MW2 near the launch, and currently have only about 40hours on it so far..... P

FYI its not MW2.5 or MW3
But it is fun.. Spawning issues aside. I have yet to explore all the multiplayer options... I like how you build cash suppy to buy the stuff you want.. Although it still seems leveling up is necessary first.

That is a great ad. Very funny, and must have cost a mint. I like the gun tags like in the actual game. |

Yesterday I made a short movie clip in Theater that shows the spawn problem. I put this video together where I got a double kill with the RC-XD. I found the vid funny because one of the guys I killed had just sent out his own RC-XD and as it drives away mine rolls up and kills him and his teammate who's laying down camping. 2 seconds after I kill them the same guy spawns 3 feet away from where I just killed him. That guy ended my killstreak because I was 20 feet away from were they were when I sent my RC-XD out so after I cleared them I ran up the alley towards where they were thinking all was good and the guy I killed spawned looking right in my direction as I ran up.

So far (in about two hours of playing after the patch installed off xbox live), I've noticed considerable improvement in the matchmaking and sound effects volume.
Spawns are still lousy however...and will continue to be for some time I imagine. Last edited by hugh; 2010-11-22 at 07:09 AM. Reason: edited to remove foul language. Pls see our rules regarding coarse language |

I certainly notice MY footsteps are louder. I sound like an elephant running around a gymnasium.

the foot steps are something else. Sometime i sound like im running in mud(when its dry) and other times like im wearing tap shoes. I have often turned around while running thinking someone else was behind me... ill have to double check my surround settings on that though..

Good (unfortunate?) to hear I am not the only one. I have my settings on "quiet" and "theatre". I'll experiment...

its been painful trying to get together with my friends on PS3 its fine by myself, the only reason I have it for PS3 is so I can play with my friends that don't have 360, haven't done the update yet, but I'll be happy if I can get a party going on PS3 and it doesn't constantly drop people
