Default Comments on NeoDVDplus5?

Although I've been able to burn DVD-Video discs, using DVD-Rs and the NeoDVDplus5 software that came with my LG 8080B drive, they don't play on my Panasonic DVD-RP62 player. (The play just fine in the drive, though.)

Is anyone aware of any problems with that software? Is it incompatible with Panasonic players? (The RP62 user's manual makes no mention of special software or settings, just that DVD-Rs must be burned as DVD-Video discs.) Any recommendations for a more reliable, but not overly-expensive, DVD burning software?

Thanks.

I have Toshiba DVD/VCR combo and even though the manual for it says it will play DVD+r, it doesn't. Have you tried using a different DVD format? Try a rewritable with either the - or +. This DVD standard is everything but standard.....

Thanks for the comment, Danster, but I didn't try any other types of discs because, according to the owner's manual:
Quote:
Discs that cannot be played
DVD-Audio, PAL discs, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, CD-ROM, CDV, CD-G, +RW, DVD-RW, CVD, SVCD, SACD, Divx Video Discs and Photo CD.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to pick up some cheap +R or +/-RW discs on sale and try them out. I'd still like to get some ideas on other reliable software, though.

I used Ulead Movie (something) 3 Trial, Roxio 6 and I have made pretty good DVD's with these 2. The only problems I ran into are the ones about compatibility issues with - and + R stuff.

What does the directory structure look like on the DVD you burned...

Dont waste your money.

Use DVD decrypter and DVD shrink. Completely Free...and they work great!

It's the same structure I ripped from the original DVD (which, I believe, is the VIDEO_TS folder with all its files). The copy I burned worked fine on my DVD burner, but not on the Panasonic.

I e-mailed Panasonic to ask them about NeoDVDplus5 versus their player. The reply I got stated that they're not familiar with that software and suggested that I try using a different application, such as 321Studios' DVD XCopy Xpress or Sonic's MyDVD, with which they've had consistent success.

Before spending a lot of time ( and $s) with new software making coasters, take your DVD to an electronics store and try it on several machines. Then you'll know for sure....

I downloaded DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and installed them last night. Decrypter seemed to work fine, but Shrink didn't do anything. It opened, found the necessary file(s) and then...nothing. I uninstalled and re-installed and tried it all again. No go. ¿Que pasa? Any thoughts?

Although you used DVD-R, there is some information which may help on this DVD+R website - http://dvdplusrw.org/Article.asp?mid...id=1&aid=4.

Check out the notes on the Compatibility Bitsettings.
