I had to wait a couple of days before I could set up the remote recording app. I got the same error. Be patient and it will work.

I just reset my box by unplugging the power cord on the back for 30 seconds and then it worked fine after that.

Thank you both for the replies. I should have posted this sooner, but after I'd posted this thread I was playing around with the menu and decided to restart the unit. Sure enough, after it had rebooted I was able to set up my account. Can't wait to make good use of this feature, and I can only hope that Telus will come out with a remote control app for iOS/Android devices. More and more I'm glad I switched. Thanks again for the help!

Where can I find the Blackberry app? That sorry excuse of an app store for my BB doesn't list it (Curve 8310).

Default Using Optik TV App in Prince George

Hello,

My Optik TV is now setup and it is great. However, when I try to get the necessary code for remote recording, I get an error message. The tech who installed it thought it had to do with the fact that Prince George does not yet have its own server (he said they would be installing one in the next couple of months). Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Michel

What error message are you receiving? I had an error message the first time I tried to set up remote recording in Calgary (internal server error if I remember correctly) and that was solved with a restart of the STB.

Hi Skorpien,

Yes, I am getting an internal server error, either 400 or 500. It will try to do the restart and see if it resolves the issue.

You will ALWAYS get the error until the first reboot. It happens on every install.

It's unfortunate that the Telus techs (at least the one that set mine up) don't tell you this, considering that the remote recording app was a huge deciding factor to switch for me. You either have to be courageous enough to go through the settings and try a reboot or search online and hope to stumble across a thread telling you to do so. Don't get me wrong, the tech was very knowledgeable and courteous, but he failed to mention that I needed to reboot the STB to get remote recording to work.

@i6s1, thanks for the info. I added it to the first post since a lot of people seem to have this problem.

Default Optik remote recording feature

I just set up my remote recording account on Optik TV. Has anyone else used this feature? I ran a couple of test recordings set-up on my computer, and it worked flawlessly. The only glitch was I had to use Firefox, because Safari is not recognized yet.

Yep Chrome is good also. Wonder how long it will be before TELUS sends out an e-mail to their subscribers telling them about the added features ?
