Can we get CFTU 29.1 now in west island since some people reported it already converted to digital yesterday?

CFTU 29.1 is now stable this evening with 480i SD and PSID, not bad for a non profit station that operates at less than $3 million a year, even the big boys such as CBMT and TVA still does not have PSID. This is still a 100% improvement over analog which was barley watchable !
From wiki "Although the analogue television shutdown and digital conversion took place on August 31, 2011,[1] CFTU-TV was granted a temporary extension for their analogue broadcasts until October 31, 2011. This extension deadline could not be met, so a second extension was granted until December 15, 2011. When it too could not be met, a third extension until March 31, 2012 was granted. CFTU finally began digital broadcasts on February 23, 2012. However, it currently broadcasts in standard-definition 480i and not in high definition. The digital transition slightly improved CFTU's coverage in Montreal. For most of its history, it was plagued by a weak signal. Its analog signal broadcast at only 10,000 watts, roughly on the same level as low-powered UHF stations in the United States. It was one of the weakest full-power stations in Canada and the second-weakest in Montreal. This effectively limited its over-the-air footprint to the Island of Montreal, Jèsus Island, and a few inner-ring off-island suburbs. However, its signal was marginal at best even in Montreal. Although the station's digital signal broadcasts at 450 watts--equivalent to 2,250 watts in analog--it penetrates further into Montreal than its analog predecessor, and reaches as far as the American border. However, it can't be seen at all in parts of downtown and southeast Montreal because the signal is blocked by Mount Royal. It still relies on cable for the bulk of its viewership."

AETGSA:
I cannot get CFTU in pincourt. Now the worst signal strength in my location is 15.1, 72%. 22.1 is stable at 75%.

Hello AETGSA
Nada for me as well for 29.1 in Pointe-Claire near the Lakeshore hospital My antenna points southwards towards the US stations and I can pick up all the Mont-Royal stations, all stable except for Metro 14. |

Hi Interdit_450,
I agree CJNT is hard to get in Pointe-Claire. I know a friend in Kirkland who can't get CJNT at all. CFTU is only transmitting at 450 W (ERP). I'm guessing that when CFTU will have their new antenna up on the top of the U of M tower and when the constructions will be over, they will increase the power of their transmitter to the legal limit (4 kW). Until then, we will continue with the weak signal available at the moment. |

last evening, lost CIVM (17.1) a moment. it comes back today, the signal gets 85% (same like before).
I guest they are working in antenna. WVNY (ABC22) becomes a little bit weak (72%) than before, maybe the weather is warm.

Nope, CFTU only applied for 450 watts (average) ERP.
