PokerFace, do you have a cell phone with data ? Some users use their data plan to stream videos off their iPhone which they plug on the TV.

No cell phone, nor anything that would stream Netflix. I doubt even my computer fits the minimum requirements for streaming, so even if I had high-speed Internet, I'd most likely have to buy another computer.
A simple light bulb still fascinates me. |

nowadays, just a blu-ray player, TV or other settop box is needed to stream, along of course with that expensive broadband connection...

Yup, but until I feel the need for speed, I'll just live without Netflix.
Apparently, 2011-2012 will see 1% of Canadian TV subscribers cut their cable and satellite TV subscriptions to rely solely on online, Netflix or bunny ears. I've already cut my cord, but since I did it many years ago, I like to think of myself as a trendsetter. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...an-cord-174816 |

Ahh, that would explain it... Thanks guys.
I like to keep my feeds in Google Reader so I'm going to try out that whatsnewonnetflix.com feed so long as it's all Canada only releases. This makes more sense... Last edited by Jake; 2011-04-06 at 10:38 AM. Reason: Unnecessary quote removed. Please don't quote successive posts |

New titles have been few and far between for the last several weeks. Mostly cheesy budget flicks trickling in....
Don't know if it's just the summer season coming and people are spending less time viewing or whether they're done with their initial push to secure as much content as possible for Canada. Likely the later: they launched, made a push for content, did what they could with the bandwidth/data cap issues, and now they're just sitting back and seeing how it goes. Still advertising a lot but not much in the way of new content. |

Well that would be awesome. I find the TV series one of the best value aspects of Netflix. For example going through the whole series of Mad Men, Tudors, Arrested Development, or Damages at your own convenience on your own timelines without having to rent or buy a whole bunch of DVDs that you'll only watch once.

Netflix has a content acquisition team so they are always working on deals...
and they'll never publicly comment on negotiation specifics |

I was browsing tonight and found two movies with French audio track: 'Defiance' and 'Crazy people'. I have seen some French original with English subtitle, never saw any before that had both audios. Quite interesting. Are they setting up to hit the Quebec market?

Didn't know that. Was that officially announced?
Checked a couple of my devices and the only one where we I see the different audio tracks is the PS3. There will be a major update coming up within a few months for sure! |
