I know that timeshifting to a later hour works by watching a show on a channel in a different time zone. I'm pretty sure Ontario's GMT -5 time zone isn't the earliest. So, it is possible to watch something early with timeshifting by going to a channel with a time zone earlier than GMT -5? I have 2 shows both at 9 (Glee and America's Got Talent), and I'd like to watch one at 8 and one at 9.
Thanks. |

You can watch the show whenever it is on in the channel.
If you have a PVR, you can record one and watch another and then watch the recorded one whenever you want. |

Occasionally an Atlantic Canada channel will air something early. Since Eastern time is the earliest in the US so everyone usually matches up to that.

I've seen the occasional show on ATV or NTV at 7pm EST. Other than that, there isn't much in the way of earlier airings. CTV will sometimes air a show early when there is a time conflict but it can't be counted on. As stated, a PVR/DVR is the best way to time shift shows. A dual tuner model will allow watching and recording of two shows airing in the same time slot.

Put up the schedule for Rogers and put in the name of the show under search. It should show you all the times and channels your shows are on. I just did a search for Glee under Shaw Direct and the earliest showing of a new episode is Fox Rochester. |

Do people on the west coast have Eastern Time time-shifting channels which would allow them to watch prime time shows during supper?

I know that in Calgary, Shaw cable provides eastern feeds from Detroit and some of the major CDN networks.
I've watched Nascar from there and it is kinda weird to watch a race at 11am on Sunday morning. |

Thanks jbracing24.
How did you get it to show Fox Rochester to be the earliest? When I did a search, the time on every channel is the same. nvm, I see you use Shaw. I plan to use Rogers. Just curious, what time does Glee show on Fox Rochester? |
