Not yet... Keep watching Shaw's website, however I am sure there will be lots of posts here when it is available.

I purchased a Pace Summit (DC758D) from shaw on May 1, 2010 for $450 plus tax. I live in Burnaby, BC and have phone, internet, and HDTV with shaw. As I understand it, I would not qualify to purchase at this promo price. Correct?
Also, what is Shaw's return policy on their products? I am considering returning the box and wait it out for the new DCX3400. Would this be advisable? |

I am pretty sure Shaw has a 30-day refund policy. Call and let them know you are not happy with your purchase as the new model is coming out and you want a refund. Either they will offer you a better deal on your current purchase or you can refund it I would imagine. Good luck.

Can't wait to upgrade my 6412! My biggest annoyance (besides the paltry 120 GB drive) is the control lag when one or two HD channels are being tuned in. Hopefully the new PVRs have faster CPUs.
Shaw insiders, please let us know if you hear about a revised rollout schedule. Hopefully sooner than July ...

I am waiting day by day! Anyone else eagerly ready to fork out $400 + tax? This is crazy isn't it?

The last shipment of 3416's @ the $198.00 price point have left the National Distribution centre. The $198.00 3416 sale will end in a couple of days time and the model will not be available at that price thereafter.
We are still currently building inventory on the DCX 3400 so not to dissapoint the expected rush for the them. These may be coming on the same shipment as the last of the 3416's, but there may be another DCX3400 shipment before thet start selling. Still no news on official lauch date. |

Will all cities be releasing the DCX3400 at the same time?

I wonder if these new Moto and Pace PVR have a new user interface? The current UI is Crap. If Shaw rolls out these new boxes with the same 15 year old UI designed for SD TV, they will get there butt seriously kicked by Telus and their Mediaroom system.

What's with this UI "fetish"??? I would think people watch TV channels. I spend less than 2 minutes per day in UI and rest watching actual content. Am I so off "standard user" profile chart?

It's the same UI. It's better than Rogers' and better than Shaw Direct's, FWIW, and there's improved functionality in the pipeline including something similar to Mediaroom. If your only axe to grind is how it looks, then keep grinding because there's no change in sight.
Disclaimer: Shaw may or may not choose to enable MoCA functionality, I'm just saying the software is out there or will be soon. |

I don't want to dampen any of the excitement in here stirred up by Shaw Champ, but you only have to look back at this forum to see when we thought Shaw would activate the eSATA port and when it finally happened...

WarrenC12 is quite right there is no definitive time frame when the A28 guide will come through with the MoCA functionality. It is good for consideration for sure.
Travisc is right again as the software is out there. The one difference now for consideration is that eSATA port happened because mainly Shaw looked at PACE where it was, so something had to be done with the Motorola STB's. eSATA a little different as most companies use the USB if at all. However, the DCX3400 has been on the market a while and the software upgrade is out there for MoCA. Shaw did the deal with the 500GB internal HD which is something different and for me taking the abilites serious enough. It may take a while to come through for sure. It also may happen to come through if Shaw opts to go with PACE's new DC900X down the road, may all happen at the same time. If people are interested in the A28 guide there are some video blogs from Comcast using it out there too via google search. As for the 3416 sale update, cut off is midnight Friday after then they are still available 3rd party resellers @ $348.00 ------------------ Shaw Employee but views/opinions are solely my own and do not represent or are in no way endorsed by any other party. |

So would we have to call a Shaw office to find out if any are left? If so, would they be new units or used? Also, can you update on the timeline to roll out the new Moto DCX3400? I simply cannot wait any longer |
