Can I order a speciality channel for just one month and then cancel it, Or am I under obligation to keep that channel for a period of time longer than 1 month
ex: say I just wanted to watch the UEFA game between Barcelona and Inter yesterday. Could I just order Setanta then just cancel it a couple of weeks later and just pay the one time 15 dollar monthly fee |

Then you would likely be required to pay for the amount of time you had it (pro-rated) plus 30 days.

Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem. If you ordered it and then canceled it 2 weeks later, you would only be billed for the channel pro-rated to 2 weeks (so, about 7.50). There is no minimum time to keep the channel. However, if you keep doing that multiple times every month, Shaw may catch on and you may be required to keep it for a minimum of 30 days the next time.

So Shaw has no minimums?
If Shaw did catch on, what could they do then? You can't just say to a customer, you're not breaking any rule but we're going to start charging extra.

They wouldn't get charged extra. If someone was doing it repeatedly, they would be told up front that if they were going to add that channel again, it would be a minimum 30 days.
The main enforcement for this is actually for the adult channels, so people don't add/remove Playboy, Hustler, etc. for a couple hours every day and then just remove them so they only have to pay a fraction of the price.
