Default SlingPlayer Mobile app now works on the BlackBerry Bold 9700

ling Media has announced that its SlingPlayer Mobile for Blackberry (SPM) application software has been upgraded for compatibility with the Bold 9700.

The Blackberry application, released just over a year ago, is the mobile equivalent of the Sling Player software for P.C owners that lets users control their Sling Box from their BlackBerry Smartphone using a standard network connection (3G Cellular, Wi-Fi).

Sling says the application will cost Blackberry owners $35 and runs over WiFi and on the Bell, Rogers, Telus, and WIND 3G networks.

Why do we have to pay serious $$ for a mobile app when the PC app is a free download?

Shouldn't cost more than $3.99 if you ask me.
It's a selling feature for crying out loud.

I assume the number of people buying this app is relatively small so they have to recoup the cost of development. This is not an app that is going to sell in the hundreds of thousands.
