I hope that they, the gov, do not also insist that Amazon may not import books published in the USA when the Cdn publisher has the rights but has not yet published. Or equally bad that Amazon has to charge the Cdn cover price of books rather than a discounted US price.
Either of those happen and I'd rather Amazon stayed as a Cdn web site fronting a US based company. I read Sawyer, Gottlieb and Huff so I do my bit for Canadian authors. |

I'm hoping for a larger product selection and better shipping. 99% of my Amazon purchases come from .US and not .CA

@timlocke - I highly doubt pricing is going to change and I've rarely seen Amazon charge the cover price for books. Publishers pay for regional exclusivity (sort of like Canadian networks buying U.S. shows). The same thing happens all over the world, including the U.S. For example, you'll be buying Stieg Larsson's The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest at import prices (or waiting until next month) on .com while the book has been available on .co.uk for the past six months.
