In what ways were they cracked? Your link doesn't say much.

Chrome is a fantastic browser. It's what I mostly use too. The incognito windows are great for people who look at allot of
Christmas presents for their wife.

Note: Details on all the exploits used at Pwn2Own will be shared by contest organiser TippingPoint with the relevant vendors, allowing patches to be developed.

Curious why they chose not to target Chrome?

^^^

The two quoted links offer contrary commentaries, but I think it's not that they didn't target it; they were unable to hack it. This could lend a lot of credibility to Google's efforts for Chromium OS.

You don't learn your hacking skills from osmosis. I would tend to think that any real hacker who's goal is to break something unbroken would have spent some time with Chrome before the contest. If all the people involved were just using existing tools and cracks they aren't real hackers to begin with, just script kiddies. So I would say that all hackers choosing not to touch Chrome still validates Google's efforts.

I think the title of the thread should switch "un-hackable" for "not hacked"...

Give it some time (Chrome to get some, more, traction) and let them (Google) add more features and you'll see how fast Chrome is going to join "hackable" group.

The way these hacking contests work is that the hacker comes prepared with one or more exploits and demonstrates them on the chosen platform. If you don't have a known exploit, there's no point in coming in and flailing around hoping to get lucky. If Chrome wasn't targeted, it's probably because none of the participants had found a weakness in advance.
