Default Bell 6131 inactivity Disable

Hi I have 2 bell 6131's with a Seagate 7200 RPM EHD's

On both of them I went to menu and seclected option 7 (inactivity setup) and chose the disabled mode. I the pressed "done". I went back in to double check that the changes had registered and they did.

Got up this morning and found that the Green power LED on both my receivers was off. I had to press "Select" to watch Tv.

Is there any other way to disable these receivers from going into stand by mode?

Thanks.

Not sure I understand. Why not just leave them on?

Disabling the inactivity setting does prevent the receiver from going into standby after a set amount of time. However, after the program guide downloads during the night (the default is 3AM), it sets off the standby mode automatically. I don't believe there is any way to prevent this.

Thanks VuMax your answer makes sense. Do most people have the program guide set to update automatically at 3am?.

If im watching hours and hours of TV without any other activity, it just feels primitive to have to hit the select button to get it out of standby mode to continue to watch TV again.

You can change it to whatever time you like, but I think the vast majority of subscribers don't know that and/or don't care when the guide updates.

I set the guide update on my bedroom TV to do it at 3PM. Works fine that way and the inactivity setting is also handy for the bedroom TV.
