I have a 530 reciever with 2 lines to my dish (Dual LNB).
Signal strength is 95%, but I seem to be missing channels. For example, I can get Global BC (channel 5), but can't get TSN (channel 111). I suspect that one of the LNB's is gone! Any ideas? If so, anyone know where I can get a new LNB in Prince George BC? Thanks, PCguy |

Your dish should be covered by starchoice for free repairs.
I would do a technical service call.

Unfortunately, it is a dish that was actually on the house when we bought it and they won't repair under warranty, so I need to fix myslef
Any ideas, or is it perhaps that the dish has moved and is only finding 1 sat? PCGUY |

Check kijiji for used dishes locally.

check and see if there is any splices outside, and connections at the lnb. if moisture gets inside them you will get that exact symptom. lnb's rarly fail so check your connections first before putting up a new dish

What kind of dish is it? (Round or eliptical)
What kind of LNB (Stacked or non stacked) I assume you just moved, if so what kind of dish & LNB were you using before? You may just need a new channel map downloaded from Shawdirect. |

If you actually have an acct at that address they will send out a service person to repair your system.
If you have a dual LNB (2 beer cans) one connection is for Satellite F1 and the other is for Satellite F2. you will need to run both lines to a 2x2 multiswitch then 2 lines from switch to 530. Then need to tell SD that you are on a "stacked dish" and voila you should have all channels. Last edited by a1canuck; 2010-03-24 at 05:10 AM. Reason: reread ? better answer now |
