I have a problem passing audio to my TV using the HDMI inputs.
With my TELUS satellite I use an optical cable for audio but when I connect my laptop to the TV and use the HDMI for audio I get staticky noise after 40-50 minutes, when that happens I just unplug the HDMI from either the TV or laptop, plug it in again and it works fine. When I set things up so the audio from the satellite goes through the HDMI I get the same noise except it takes longer to happen. TV is under warranty, the guy came out and updated the software on the TV, told me 90% of the time that cures the problem, if it still hapens they come out and change the main board. I still have the problem. Repair guy said Toshiba and Samsung have lotsa issues with HDMI's, anyone else heard of this?

I was just out looking to see if others had this same problem, and I see that you have. I can fix the problem by either turning off the TV or just changing the input source then changing it back. It's a little annoying, and if it happened more often I'd get something done about it, but it only happens once or twice a day, max.

Sounds like some sort of firmware issue (perhaps with the laptop since the TV was updated), but here's the HDMI Issues FAQ. Perhaps the tips there or the "things to check" at the bottom will be of some help.
