Default TMN or HBO USA Censors Bill Maher I'm not wrong???!!!

Bill Maher's Show tonight was abruptlly ended on TMN when Bill Maher was doing a skit making fun of middle-east religion. Considering that he made fun of every other group this seems crazy to pull a show for one particular group.

In second thoughts maybe it was HBO USA that pulled the plug but somehow I doubt it???

If you watch the replay the show abruptly ends in the middle of the middle-east beauty contest and goes to the next programming...hard to tell if this was TMN Canada or HBO USA pulling the plug.

The show was scheduled in a 60 minutes timeslot but was interrupted at about 75 minutes, so it most likely had to do with TMN not wanting to shift all their schedule than anything else...

I read elsewhere this morning that the show run about 80 minutes in length. Of course my recording ended at 60 minutes. I sent HBO Canada an email asking if encore presentations will be showing the entire 80 minutes, which would mean a slight juggling of their schedule. I'll wait to see what they say before watching the 60 minutes I have recorded.

It was a live show, cutting it was bad judgement, really bad judgement.

I didn't realize it was live until I read this thread. I'm thinking it was bad judgement by Bill M to make his programme 80 minutes long for a 60 minute timeslot. I like his stuff, but that's just poor planning. I can understand a couple of minutes, but to go 33% over is just not on.

In any event, cutting off a live show is unacceptable. I wouldn't be surprised if the switch over was automated and that eventuality was overlooked by whoever was monitoring the programming. The entire show was rerun later that night but started about 10 minutes early so the beginning was missing for anyone who set that timer. I set set a second timer for the encore and extended it to record longer. Didn't think it might start early though.

It was a good show, even in two parts. I've seen funnier stand-up but just love the way he cuts through the political BS in the US.

Do we know what HBO had planned though? Perhaps Bill was informed he had 75-90 minutes and it was just HBO Canada that didn't anticipate the overrun? I'd be curious to know what the real issues were, especially with that hard edit point.

Bill has years of experience hosting countless nightly shows and he's fairly expert at controlling the clock, - even while having to manage numerous undisciplined guests. I can tell you from experience it takes serious ability to to cut people off gracefully to hit your commercial time queues. Sure it's possible Bill was the one who blew the timing, but it just seems unlikely given his proven ability and experience with precision time management. That's all.

I noticed that on the re-runs shown last night, the time is now set at 80 minutes. I deleted my 1 hr recording from Sat night and recorded it last night, but have not viewed it yet to see if it is now the complete show.

I was going to record it last night, but the guide was showing just a couple of minutes over 1 hour. Does anyone know if (and when) it will be replayed in it's entirety?
