CTV and Rogers media have announced plans to offer viewers at select Canadian cable companies more than 700 hours of Video On Demand television coverage of the 2010 Winter Games.
CTV and Rogers said Olympic VOD programming will be offered free of charge to digital cable subscribers at Delta, Eastlink, Rogers, Shaw and Source Cable. Viewers at two of Canada’s largest cable companies – Cogeco and Videotron – will not be offering the service.

Very cool. I wonder how much of Eastlink's regular VOD material will be removed to make way for this stuff? Not that I watch it a lot... just wondering how they'll roll it out.

Why would they have to remove other stuff - they just need to add more hard drive space. Worst case scenario is that HD content takes about 10 GB/hour - that's diddly squat in this day and age - even though I imagine that the cable companies will be using a SAN that is a lot more expensive per TB then the $75/TB or so that you or I would pay when buying a hard drive these days.
