Default Sound problem on HD channels

Hi,
I have a Bell 9241 receiver connected w/HDMI cable to aSony KDL46XBR9HDTV and an audio cable from TV to the Yamaha home theatre system.
On most of the HD channels I am getting a 5.1 sound, but some (Oasis and few others) the sound is comming just on 2 channels, like all the standard channels
I was wondering if someone knows why this happen and what can I do.
One thing I will try today is to buy a Tosslink digital audio cable and get the sound directly from the Bell recoiver to the sound system. But still this is puzzling me why on some channels the sound is OK and sone not
Thanks,
Jedi_m

You cannot (usually) get DD5.1 audio "through" a TV as discussed in bolding in the following FAQ. But this is true for all channels, not just a couple. All SD channels are DD2.0 (excepting the premium movie channels), but you can get surround sound from DD2.0 by invoking Dolby Pro Logic in the AVR. On some channels the audio is improperly encoded, as indicated in the FAQ. You likely need to connect directly from the device to the AVR.

57, thanks a lot, this was a fast answer.
I guess a digital audio cable between my PVR and Yamaha sound system would be my priority today .
Thanks again and have a good weekend.
