I bypass the QSG by choice but occasionally a wrong finger movement will land me there and raise my blood pressure, so the QSG is good for those with low blood pressure ...
Anyways, I can't help but notice that Rogers continues to have the incorrect channels listed under free preview, guess that company can't be embarrassed by anything. |

It feels like weeks go by without any QSG post and when there is, it's inevitable it's going to be a negative one. It's a failure and you're right about the free preview listings being uselessly out of date. Wow... "[blank] free preview ends March 22nd." and it's already May 9th.
In fact a week can go by where I forget it exists! I have the guide order set up so I see the Electronic Programming Guide first (thanks, Rogers, for letting a month go by where we had no choice but to have QSG 1st, EPG 2nd). Since I've trained my mind and thumb to only hit the guide button once, I rarely see it unless I do a double press. |

My 8300HD still has the quickstart IPG, but my 4250HD hasn't had it for over a week. My boxes now seem to reset every day as they're coming on again on channel 1 (last channel option is enigaged in the menu).

The What's On section doesn't actually tell you what's on. The on demand section I suppose is vaguely useful if you don't know where the On Demand channels, but, "309" is just so much easer to enter than guide+down+down+sel+sel+down+down+down+sel. The Daily Essentials: sure, the weather is interesting, but not interesting enough to justify a whole extra button push for everything else. Couldn't somebody just put the weather somewhere else? Fun and games: not very fun really. It's hard to tell which is more unbeleivably stupid: putting this screen before the programming guide in the first place; or not providing an option to get rid of it altogether after having found out how intensely people dislike it. |

It appears some new features have been added to the QSG, like ordering channels directly through the DTV Box

Did anyone else notice the extra options on the Quick Start menu that popped up yesterday? Now channels are colour-coded according to whether or not you have them or not. As well, you can order more stations via the Quick Start menu.
Two things....1) if they an colour code stations, why don't they do this with the regular quide - I mean, does anyone really use the Quick Start menu to scan available stations? and 2) Why are some stations available for ordering through the Qucik Start menu, while others still require you to call in? Grrrr! |

It appears the QSG runs as a separate app and does not connect with the IPG. I would like to see them use the QSG to build a new IPG within it and then delete the old Guide.
