Is it just me or since that new guide came out, even if you change it back to the old way , if you are recording 2 things at once , you can't view the guide? I am positive that before this , I could still see the guide

Have not been here in a while. Saw the other day that the 'fix' went in. So I changed my pvr's to "tv listings" first. Last night I kept double clicking out of habit. Guess it wont be hard to revert back, but its amazing how quickly you get hooked on a process.

Must be just you. I tried exactly that the other night. I was recording 2 shows, one of which I was watching. The guide came up just fine when I pressed the button.

Now the dreaded red QSG screen is just a bad memory. Occasionally I'll press GUIDE twice out of curiosity, but I haven't been intrigued enough to explore it further.

The best thing about that new QSG is that you can use it to make the old IPG primary. Beyond that, I haven't seen it do much that isn't otherwise available.

I've got a really wierd bug with the new QSG that is happening on my HDPVR as well as my very basic digital box (no bells or whistles on that one).

I personally hate the new QSG and when I finally noticed the option yesterday to make the old IPG the first one that pops up I immediately went for it. As soon as I made the change to this and exited back to the TV I had lost all audio on all channels. I tried turnign the TV/STB off and on and that didn't help. Only pulling the plug and rebooting fixxed it. I tried it again and same issue. Last night I tried it with my old basic digital box on my old TV upstairs and exact same issue.

Anyone else having this issue? Any fix for it? I'm in Mississauga btw.

The cold reboot should have fixed the issue. Have you checked your signal strength and S/N ratio?

I had an issue with the QSG freezing my SA8300HD on one of the "What's on" menu's or whatever it's called. A reboot fixed it.

Rebooting did not solve the issue because once it was up and running again I tried changing to the IPG as the first page and the same issue happened.

I've never gone into the diagnostic pages on the box before so will have to look into that.

Sometimes a bug will pop up where I only get the QSG. I just reboot the unit (never understood why there's a near-4 minute delay in rebooting back to channel 1). I use this feature rarely.

Right now they "free preview" section lists this month's free previews, including third-language channels. Too bad when you highlight the channel, you have to hit the "info" button to see that [blank] international channel is in a free preview... from April 21st to the 30th (not helpful when it's the 4th).

I had this happen once. Selecting the Guide button from within QSG fixed it, no reboot required.

Weirdly, I unplugged one of my PVRs at the weekend and when I powered back up the new screen was totally gone... back to the way it was before. I tried this with my other PVR and it didn't work... the stupid new screen is still there... I wish I knew what I did and how to recreate it.

My non-technophile parents visited last week, and my father somehow got the PVR into this QSG-only mode (?) during the day while I was at work. No idea what he did. But choosing "Launch Guide" from the QSG got it back to 'normal' for me as well, without a reboot.

Hmmm, all of the channels that the Quick Start Guide presently has in free preview mode come up as unauthorized for some reason. Perhaps there's a delay in updating the QSG entries when some channels end their free previews but according to http://www.rogers.com/web/content/pe...s/free_preview some of the free previews (Animal Planet & Sundance Channel) ended weeks ago. The free preview calendar they posted on that page there shows some channels as only being open on certain weekends but it would be convenient to have the QSG entries updated according to that calendar.

is the quick start guide really worth it? I'm in NB and we don't have it here, much like a lot of stuff you guys have, but I would like to see if its worth having.

I think this question was adequately answered in the posts in the previous 34 pages, as well as the poll results.
