Default TLNHD - TeleLatino Network in High Definition

TLN and TLNW both show a lot of sports programming as well as general tv shows. Any chance they will be going HD any time soon? I can not find any details on here, but I have noticed some of the feeds they are buying are in 16x9 downconverted content. so their sources do have HD content.

Has any Chorus channel gone HD recently too? cant wait!

Telelatino recently applied to launch HD simulcasts of all their channels including 2 that have not even launched. This should be approved by the CRTC by spring but who knows when they will launch them after that?! They applied for HD simulcasts of the following:

TLN HD
TLN en Espanol HD
SKY TG 24 HD
RCS HD (unlaunched service)
Soccer Television HD (unlaunched service)

I checked it out and everything so far broadcasting on TLN-HD was stretched not real HD. Maybe only their sports will be true HD.

i hope so too.

I can not stand it stretched, even the stretch mode of my TV/STB can not compensate for it and correct the picture back to proper aspect ratio.

Update to this thread. They finally showed TRUE HD programming. The euro cup game when aired on TLN HD its definitely crisp quality signal, its proper aspect ratio and its not stretch=o-vision. This is most likely the only material in their library thats in HD 16:9, the rest seems to be in SD 4:3.

What gets me is to why Rogers would even think of carrying a channel that has no real HD except for the odd program, yet their are numerous channels with real HD that they don't offer, go figure.

At this point you got to wonder why the CRTC bother attributing SD licence? Just make sure every HD licence come with a SD simulcast license and be down with it.

Good news, TLN is finally broadcasting true HD programming and not stretched. Though they stretch the program is it is in SD. Good job TLN!

I too noticed this today. They may have sourced some "true hd" material and are airing it in pure hd widescreen on their hd station, they definately use a seperate graphics engine for their hd and sd feed now, because the on screen TLN bug is in different loations on both stations. Good for them, keep up the good work and try to source more hd material.
