Hi I'm trying to follow the specs of this antenna posted by 300Ohm, Post #8
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=95898 But it states to have 2 pieces of 5 foot copper wire, but according to his schematic he has each bend 11 inches long, with a total of 6 plus the 5.6" on the ends, meaning one copper wire is over six feet long, sorry about this I"m very new to OTA and I know that 300ohm is not making the mistake here |

Do you mean the Hoverman design ?
The lengths between the bends should be about 7", not 11" and the bends should be aproximately 90° with the end bends at about 120° and the tip/end lenghs should be 5.5". The total of each element wire length is about 56". The spacing between the element mounting points should be either 9" or it can be 10" if you accurately maintain all of the 90° bends. The distance between the mounting points and the center feed points that separate the 2 elements apart is about 3.5" up to 4". Measurement variations that I have mentioned would depend on which specific design spec you are looking at. What I have said would apply to the basic concept design of a Grey Hoverman antenna. The following pic is a GH that I made a few years ago and it worked great for UHF 14-69, but little or nothing on VHF 2-13. You could always add NARODs to the top and bottom to try for VHF 7-13
